It may be the season of unpredictable weather, but there’s one thing I know for certain, black never goes out of style no matter what season we’re in. An all black wardrobe makes it incredibly easy to transition your outfits from winter to spring and from sunshine to spring showers. So although florals naturally come to mind at this time of year, why not let Mother Nature do all of the talking and keep your spring wardrobe all black.
I’ve picked my 8 favourite black pieces from Saint and Sofia’s SS21 collection to inspire you to include black in your wardrobe this season.

This time of year is the perfect opportunity to spring clean your wardrobe so why not freshen up those basics. Weather permitting these are the building blocks to your outfits and also make great base layers when the temperature calls for it. The turn up tee and rib cami are two wardrobe essentials. Incredibly versatile, layer them under light knitwear for exrtra warmth or on their own with a classic trench coat or timeless blazer.
The biggest change in my wardrobe has to be the switch over from my winter coat to a more lightweight and season appropriate style. Opting for something like a trench coat gives you the option to wear layers underneath and with the weather constantly changing, lighter layers make it easier to switch your outfit throughout the day.
A true classic, this piece will stay in your wardrobe for year’s, always bringing an air of Parisian chic to even the most casual of looks.

The Eden chino are a great swap for those winter wool trousers. Lightweight with a cropped cut this classic style is a great piece to have in your spring wardrobe. Keep things casual with a simple t-shirt and trainers combination or go for a more tailored look by styling them with the Cambridge blazer and a pair of loafers.
A black blazer is one of the best investments your wardrobe could ask for, and it’s asking for the Cambridge Blazer. A true classic and an incredibly versatile piece, the Cambridge blazer is a year round wardrobe staple. Go for a fresh and stylish look during spring, simply style with a basic t-shirt and jeans for that timeless, laid-back look.

This season saint and sofia have spoiled us for choice when it comes to the most classic piece of black clothing, the little black dress. The piece that really stood out for me while scrolling through their new in was the Carnaby minidress. It’s ruffle hem and delicate broderie anglaise detail give it a feminine and playful look and it’s longer sleeve length make it perfect for those cooler spring days. Wear it with a leather jacket and boots for a more edgy look that can take you from day to night effortlessly.
The perfect alternative to the LBD, the galaxy playsuit has everything you want from a dress with the comfort and security of a playsuit. The hidden shorts mean you won’t get caught out on those breezy spring days – no Marilyn Monroe moments here! Those playful ruffles and that beautiful star print require minimal styling making it a hero piece in my SS21 wardrobe.

It’s time to pack away those chunky roll necks and go for a fine knit. Look for a style with some added texture like the honeycomb sweater to give your all black outfit an interesting edge.
The ideal piece for layering over your favourite basics, simply tie your knitwear around your shoulders for a quick and easy way to restyle your outfit through the day.
